Adam Toohey

G'day folks I am Adam Toohey and I would like to start off by saying a very big and very gracious thank you to the PTU Boys for awarding me the honor of PTU Member of the Week. It all started way back (actually not that long ago) in September of 2008 at Ryan Lee's Boot Camp and the PTU Member Breakfast. It was that day I became an official member of PTU and since then I have been blown away by the incredible value and amazing people that turn to this wonderful site for advice, encouragement and perhaps a little rant every now and again. From PNJ to Coach Z and AJ, Rocco, Scott T, SP and Rick K. to C. McCombs, Donovan Owens, Greg "Buford T" Justice and The People's Fit Coach Sincere Hogan, there are almost too many to name, I appreciate you all.

It's been quite the ride for me thus far and it goes a little something like this. Ordinary bloke busting his butt (fat butt) at KFC decides enough is enough and wants a better life. He transforms into a fit, active and much healthier Personal Trainer that takes him from Melbourne to London to Alaska to Mexico and finally moves to the Big T.O. with little more than a suitcase full of clothes. During that time I became a Certified NLP Coach, including a little Time Line and Hypnotherapy and a few TR courses along the way. I love helping people with their success and transformations and it is a privilege to serve and contribute to the lives of my clients and colleagues. I am now currently based out of GoodLife Fitness in Etobicoke and I dare say by the time Fast Track rolls around will be officially on my own and out into the big wide world. With the help of my mate Rocco Castellano I have developed my first real site http://AdamToohey.com and have a number of projects in the works.

Being a member of PTU has had a profound impact on my career thus far, and will continue to do so I have no doubts. The value is amazing (20 bucks is a joke) and what really makes it so incredibly valuable are the people it has attracted. From the Top down you folks continue to amaze me with your passion, knowledge and willingness to lend a helping hand. I am truly happy and grateful to be a part of the PTU family. With regards to business I have gotten many ideas from the posts within PTU and helped grow my networks using the Six Figure Six tactics.

You have all provided such great value and I really thank you all for doing so and here are a few tips that I hope will help you in some way, in some area of your life.

1. Be an Active Learner.

There are many times when we learn something, know it's valuable and never use it. Some fall victim to this more so than others and I am certainly not immune to it by any stretch. There is such an incredible amount of content we take in each day that it is difficult, at times, to really put that information to good use. Remember that no matter how much great information you do receive, you do need to put it to good use. It may seem a little antiquated but at some point we are all guilty of it. If you read something that really resonates with you or gives you a great idea... take action on it right away even if that means writing it up on your white board or taking MASSIVE action. Do something with it that will help to improve your life or the lives of those around you.

2. Lend a Helping Hand.

We can all get very busy in building our own businesses and blogs, websites and email lists which is all very important. As critical as this is to most of our businesses it is also vital to lend a hand to those who you admire, follow, read about or talk about. It feels good to know that something you may have done has helped a fellow member of this planet live a better quality of life, or helped to grow their business. There is a great bunch of stuff you can do today to promote local businesses, blogs and websites of those you follow be it through twitter, Facebook or just a simple reply to a post they put time and effort into. Quality comments to a blog post you read can have a profound effect. Basically it all comes down to relationship building and strengthening the ties between yourselves and those around you. It is no secret that by giving (as opposed to just taking) that at some point down the road your efforts will be repaid. It may come in many forms, and you may not even notice it. It will however come back to you; it is purely the law of reciprocity. Always remember to the relationships that exist OFFLINE as opposed to just online as these are just as important.

3. Refuse to Settle and Take Control

Settling for anything less than your best is easy to do. I am guilty of it, as I am sure many others are. The path of least resistance is favored by many and you see it all over the internet with the Get Rich Quick type stuff. Any path worth taking tends not to be an easy one. There will be plenty of frustrations, setbacks and challenges. What you MUST do is to ensure that you Take Control of your emotions, your thoughts and your reactions. Becoming a master of anything is never easy and the ability to really control these aspects of our lives is one that some of us may never attain, but all of us can. Look to yourself, to your clients, to your business and to your friends and family and ask yourself... am I REALLY giving my absolute BEST... and not the best of what other people may expect (some people don't expect much) but the absolute best you know you can deliver. If it is anything less than that, your life, you success, and your results will bob up and down in the ocean of mediocrity.

Once again I would like to thank all of you for making PTU such an amazing community to be a part of, thanks to "The Boys" and AJ for awarding me Member of the Week and I greatly look forward to seeing all of you LIVE in Morristown New Jersey for Fast Track to Fitness Millions. Wooooooo!!!
